As Box continues to woo the world’s big corporations with its enterprise storage and collaboration software, it’s having to adapt its ideals to a global cloud infrastructure still more defined by geography and politics than Silicon Valley had hoped.

In its latest adaptation to that reality, Box has announced a new storage solution called Box Zones, which allows customers to store their data more locally around the world than within Box’s own three West Coast data centers. The result of a partnership with Amazon Web Services and IBM IBM -0.01% Cloud, Box Zones launched on Tuesday with data centers in Ireland, Germany, Japan and Singapore.
