Microsoft 365 Migration

Migrate from Google Workspace, on-prem Exchange, or a legacy M365 tenant — without an inbox going dark on Monday morning.

Microsoft 365 migrations look simple in the sales demo. In practice they go wrong at mailbox cutover, shared-calendar handoff, SharePoint permission mapping, OneDrive sync conflicts, and the 2 a.m. "wait, my signatures are gone" crisis. We run the whole move: discovery, licensing, tenant setup, mailbox and data migration, MFA and conditional access, client-side reconfiguration, and a sit-by-your-people cutover week. Houston-based engineers, on-site when the project calls for it.

What’s included

The specifics.

  • Source discovery (Google Workspace, on-prem Exchange, IMAP, legacy M365 tenant) and inventory of mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, calendars, and delegations
  • License plan (Business Basic / Standard / Premium vs. Enterprise E3 / E5 + Copilot add-on) tuned to your compliance posture and budget
  • Tenant provisioning, domain verification, DNS and SPF / DKIM / DMARC alignment — without breaking your live mail flow
  • Mailbox migration with PST backfill, shared-mailbox and resource-calendar handoff, and public-folder conversion
  • SharePoint / OneDrive data migration with permission mapping (not the default "everybody has access" dump)
  • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) identity, MFA enforcement, conditional access policies, privileged-role protection
  • Outlook profile rebuild, signature handling, calendar re-sharing, and client-side desktop/mobile reconfiguration
  • Cutover week on-site — our engineers sit with your people the day mail routing flips
  • 30-day post-cutover support and a clean handover to your ongoing Managed IT

Who needs this

Businesses moving off Google Workspace, on-prem Exchange, or a hosted-Exchange reseller. Companies consolidating multiple M365 tenants after M&A. Practices that adopted M365 Basic years ago and now need Copilot, Purview, or compliance-aligned configuration. Firms preparing for a SOC 2, HIPAA, or CMMC audit who need the M365 side operationalized.

FAQ

Microsoft 365 Migration — common questions.

How long does a typical M365 migration take?+

Small-to-mid practice (up to ~50 mailboxes): 3–5 weeks end-to-end, with the actual mail-routing cutover typically done over a weekend. Larger or multi-tenant migrations: 6–12 weeks. The number that matters isn't the tech — it's how quickly we can get discovery access and stakeholder time for shared-resource decisions.

Will my email go down during the migration?+

No. We run coexistence during the migration window (mail flows through both systems) and the cutover itself is planned — usually a Friday evening after-hours with Monday morning ready. We've never had a client lose a business day of email.

What happens to our existing email archives and PST files?+

They're part of the migration. We inventory PSTs on user machines and network shares up front, get them into the new tenant with proper retention applied, and give you a single searchable archive instead of a pile of PST files nobody can find.

Can you migrate us from Google Workspace?+

Yes — Google Workspace → M365 is one of the migrations we run most often. Gmail, Google Drive, shared drives, calendar, contacts — all handled. The tricky part is usually Google Groups → M365 distribution groups / shared mailboxes; we map that explicitly as part of discovery.

Do we need E5 to migrate?+

No — start where the license math works, upgrade per-user when the features justify it. For regulated clients (healthcare, legal, CPA) E3 + Purview + Copilot often beats E5 on cost. We do the license modeling as part of the plan.

What does this cost?+

Migration work is scoped in writing after a paid 1-week discovery — no open-ended hourly. Houston-metro practices typically see migrations in the mid-four to low-five figures depending on mailbox count and complexity. Licensing is pass-through at Microsoft's published price.
